I live surrounded by nature in an adobe house and studio handmade by my husband and me, which sits on the north-facing slope of the San Gabriel Mountains high above the Western Mojave Desert. It is spectacular for its beauty and intimate connection to nature. I live a spiritual life feeling close to nature and our animals, and to friends, family, and a huge network of fellow artists.

I am closely connected to the Museum of Art and History in Lancaster (MOAH), which has completely changed the face of our desert culture, bringing sophistication and intellectual nourishment to the valley. I make the hour-and-a-half drive to LA once or twice a week to buy supplies, visit museums and galleries, and go to my own and friends’ openings. I am fortunate to live in nature yet close to the major art hub that is Los Angeles.

I’ve been an artist all my life, returning to school as an adult to earn an MFA from Claremont Graduate University, and for the past twenty years I’ve been using thick juicy acrylic paint to make paintings and paint things -- suggestive objects that can be flat like paintings or that hang on the wall as sculptural forms. My tools of choice are squeeze bottles and pastry tubes that I use to make the 3D forms that give me so much satisfaction.

My work is included in the permanent collections of the Lancaster Museum of Art and History and the Riverside Art Museum, and it has been written about in numerous publications and online zines. I’ve done residencies at Idyllwild with Roland Reiss, and at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, and I’ve shown in Venice, Seoul, Beijing, New York, St Louis, Sacramento and all over Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.

My work and my life spring from spiritual practice and love of nature.
